The Cavan and Leitrim Railway is a voluntary based society, who operate a living museum at Dromod Co. Leitrim with a collection of transport items from around the country from Irish Air Corps planes and cockpits to vintage buses and our collection of narrow gauge steam locomotives and rolling stock.

They set up at Dromod in 1993 and their first services started in 1995. They restored the station site from ruin to the charming engine shed it is now. They have just completed fundraising for the second steam engine “Nancy” and have spent £165,000 in total on the engine, she will return at some point this year and will return steam to leitrim.
