Celebrate Father’s Day at Croke Park

Dads and Grandads go FREE to the Stadium Tour and GAA Museum

If you’re looking to do something a little different with dad this Father’s Day, why not take him on a tour of Croke Park and give him a day out to remember!

The best thing is that dads and grandads go FREE with a paying adult or child for this day only!

The special man in your life will be blown away as he walks in the footsteps of his GAA heroes and goes behind-the-scenes at the 82,300 capacity stadium, the third largest in Europe.

On the guided tour, he will access all areas, visiting the players’ dressing rooms and lounge before running out pitch side through the players’ tunnel.  The tour also stops off in the VIP section and the media centre on the stadium’s top tier. Along the way he’ll get stories about the stadium’s rich history and insights into how it operates on big match days.

The day will be made even more special as the GAA Museum in the stadium also offers free entry to all those who take the Stadium Tour!

The state-of-the-art interactive museum brings visitors on a journey that vividly illustrates the story of Gaelic games from ancient times to the present. Their vast collection includes rare and precious artefacts from our national games, as well as highlighting the contribution the GAA has made – and continues to make – to Ireland’s cultural, social and sporting heritage since its foundation in 1884.

The museum also has a newly opened ‘Ireland’s Olympians’ exhibition, as well as iconic memorabilia such as the signed shorts and glove from the late Mohammed Ali, who famously fought in Croke Park in 1972.

A highlight of the museum for many is the Interactive Games Zone where everyone can test their hurling and football skills – see how fast you can react, check your passing skills and practice a fingertip save or the art of the high catch!  It will certainly keep dad on his toes!

Croke Park is an iconic stadium steeped in history, and has been at the heart of Irish sporting and cultural life for over 100 years.

Both of these attractions were recently awarded with the 2016 certificate of excellence and are listed on the top 5 things to do in Dublin.

The GAA Museum will open at 10.30 on June 19th and tours of the stadium will take place at 11.00, 12.00, 13.00, 14.00 and 15.00. Tours operate on a first come, first served basis, so make sure to arrive in good time.  If you can’t visit on Father’s Day, the museum also offers free entry to all ticket holders on match days.
