Dublin has a rich medieval history and from the 8th Century was a place of ongoing Viking raids and Viking activity. The Dublinia attraction at Christchurch Cathedral is a super educational exhibit & museum dedicated to this fascinating time in Irish history.
Families will love a visit to the Natural History Museum in College Green, near government buildings. Known affectionately in the capital as the ‘dead zoo’, the museum is free of charge and has 2 floors of skeletons and exhibits celebrating Ireland’s diverse natural history across land and sea.
For the grown ups, The Old Jameson Distillery Dublin, is set on the grounds of the original Jameson distillery from 1780. Located in Smithfield, it is one of Dublin’s most popular attractions and renowned as a top choice on all brochures outlining things to do in Dublin.

Lots to keep the kids (and grown ups!) entertained with locations at Blanchardstown, Coolock, Stillorgan and Tallaght. |National Aquatic Centre is the home of Aquazone. It’s a hugely impressive place and has something for all ages making it an ideal day out choice for the whole family. All indoors, it’s a large (very large) waterpark with pool areas, wave machine, surf rider, water novelties and lots of slides of varying exhilaration – highly recommended!|
|The Old Jameson Distillery Dublin is a fascinating insight into the 200 year old history of Jameson whiskey which was made in Dublin up to the early 1970s, before operations moved to Middleton in Cork. Great gift idea, very popular with overseas visitors or as a location for corporate gatherings. Drinks, whiskey tasting and ‘3rd still’ restaurant.|
