Days out in Longford are dominated by events and activities at the Center Parcs resort that opened in Summer 2019. This is the first Center Parcs resort outside the UK and the ‘Longford Forest’ location includes 470 lodges to accommodate 2,500 guests, 30 apartments, and more than 100 indoor and outdoor family activities.  

Longford is situated the midlands of Ireland and East of the River Shannon. The county is renowned for its angling and boating and as a place of ancient historical interest. Many lakes and rivers are within easy reach and allow for canoeing, cruising and kayaking. 

The Royal Canal connects Longford with Dublin by waterway and brings many boating enthusiasts, anglers and visitors to the country.
