Don’t miss your chance to catch a young band at the forefront of new Irish trad music in a series of special concerts for young audiences.
Fast becoming a festival favourite around the world, MOXIE are garnering a reputation for their highly charged live performances, brimming with youthful vitality. With a traditional music that flows from banjos, guitar, accordion, keyboard and percussion, their sound is shaped by Ireland’s untamed West Coast. This trad music mixes with other musical influences from folk, rock and new age bluegrass, giving the band a truly distinctive sound.
MOXIE come to The Ark hot on the heels of their performances as the band in Prodijig, The Revolution at The Cork Opera House which received rave reviews and 3 weeks of sold out shows. In August 2014 they released their debut album Planted to critical acclaim.
MOXIE are: Cillian Doheny (tenor banjo/guitar), Jos Kelly (button accordion/keyboard), Darren Roche (button accordion), Ted Kelly (tenor banjo) and Paddy Hazelton (percussion).
