The Helix Panto raises €12,000 for Barretstown Children’s Charity
Magic was in the air this morning as the cast of The Helix Panto, The Three Musketeers presented a cheque of €12,000.00 to Barretstown Children’s Charity, which was raised from the casts designated charity show.
This season, The Helix Panto staged a special performance of The Three Musketeers starring Ireland’s premier tenor, Paul Byrom (Lord Beautface), Orla Jennings (Daria), Chris Corroon (Dame Lola), along with audience favourites such as Aidan Manion and Colin Hughes, where ALL proceeds raised on the night went directly to Barretstown Children’s Charity.
The funds raised will help towards continuing the services and support at Barretstown, who offer free, specially designed camps and programmes for children and their families living with a serious illness. All the children and families that attend a camp at Barretstown receive accommodation, food and medical assistance which are provided at no cost to the family, all of which is supported by donations and the fundraising efforts of corporate supporters, individuals and community groups.
General Manager of The Helix, Michael Brady, said ‘We are thrilled to be donating a remarkable €12,000.00 to Barretstown, a charity that resonates with families who come to enjoy the panto during the festive period. Knowing how much the funds raised will help the charity has given all of us a great sense of fulfillment and pride today’.
CEO and Creative Director of TheatreworX, Claire Tighe said ‘We were thrilled to partner and raise much needed funds for Barretstown Children’s Charity this year. On behalf of all the cast and crew I’d like to say a big thank you to all who came on the night to support our charity show’.

Childhood stops for seriously ill children. At Barretstown, we Press Play on childhood. But this is only possible through fundraising efforts like these which are vital for us to run our therapeutic programmes serving children affected by serious illness, and their families. The services provided to all of the children and families who come to Barretstown are entirely free of charge, and this incredible support will allow more seriously ill children to experience the magic of Barretstown’.
