Tough Mudder 2019
Tough Mudder 2019 is on once again at Loughcrew in Co Meath. The famous mud run is a non timed cross country obstacle course that takes in running, walking, grass, hills, water, obstacles and of course – mud!
DayOut.ie have been avid Tougher Mudderers since 2016 and we just can’t get enough! You do it and you can’t wait for the next one…..well, at the time of writing, it’s coming and it’s just around the corner!

Crowds descend on Loughcrew in Oldcastle Co Meath – it’s a large expanse of rolling hills, forests, walks, country laneways and there’s even a wee lake thrown in there too. It’s an outdoor lovers dream!
Tough Mudder is great to do by yourself but even better to do as a group. The craic on the day is absolutely rockin’ and it has a festival vibe about it as everyone parks up and gathers at the start areas. There’s bag drop facilities (about €5) where you can leave all your kit and change of clothes – you really don’t want to be bringing phones, tablets or anything else with you on the course, unless it’s a go prop or some other waterproof device. So pay the €5 and leave your gear at the bag drop where you c an collect it and change after the event. There’s goodies to be picked up afterwards too like your finisher t-shirt and your headband, so make sure you get these and wear them with pride.

Obstacles are not compulsory – you can walk around them if you’re not brave enough (call to action!) but it’s part of the experience to get stuck in and immerse yourself in both water and mud. If you have pals that don’t want to get wet, have a little headache, need a hug or are generally just a bit needy – drag them along and the course will sort out all their ailments!
Make no mistake about it peoples, at Tough Mudder you will get wet, you will get sore and you will get bumps and scratches along the way. We wouldn’t have it any other way. As a closing comment, I will say that the Tough Mudder Artic Enema is like noting on this earth that you have ever experienced before.
