Helix Panto Review Treasure Island 2023
Christmas season has begun with the launch of the TheatreWorX Helix Panto 2023.
It’s a Treasure Island quest this year, with lead character Jane, played by Britain’s Got Talent singer Leah Barniville, seeking the Treasure map before the Panto baddie gets there first. It’s great to see many familiar faces but also some new names treading the Helix stage this year.
There’s all the usual comedy laughs and fab trending tunes to keep you foot tapping along. The larger than life dame Lola is back, played by Chris Corroon, accompanied this year by a hilarious love interest.
Audience favourites Laurel (Aidan Mannion) and a new faced Buddy keep the laughs rolling in. West end actor Barry Keenan is another new face this year, playing ‘Long John Silver’ and he delivers a superb performance as the shows comical Panto baddie.
Jane sets sail in search of Treasure & Adventure, accompanied by her trusty friends and also a couple of sneaky stow aways. If only ship captain Billy Bones can stay awake long enough to get them to Treasure island in one piece!
There’s a host of hilarious characters on this journey and even more when they get to their destination. Shout out to the set design which is really superb, including a very large LED feature wall that really compliments the stage antics.
Great music, athletic dance sequences, wonderful costumes and tons of laughs! If the audience reaction when we attended is anything to go by, then you need to book tickets straight away! It was hugely popular with guests and must be on track to be one of the best shows yet!
TheatreworX ‘Treasure Island’ is at the Helix Dublin and is running from 24th November to 14th January 2024. Tickets priced from €27.50 (plus booking fees) and are on sale now from www.thehelix.ie and at the Helix Box Office.
