The Canal Boat Restaurant offers visitors a delightful dinner cruise along Dublin’s Grand Canal on board the MV Cadhla.

Combining fresh modern style & elegance with an authentic Dublin experience, visitors and Dubliners alike can enjoy an incredible canal cruise along a beautiful stretch of the Grand Canal.

Our three course meals are freshly prepared by our onboard chefs, using the finest local produce.

Enjoy a pre-dinner drink on deck from our fully licenced bar, serving beers, wines and spirits. The tree-lined banks of the canal offer a scenic backdrop as the boat glides silently along. You can watch the crew open and shut the 200 year old locks, which are still operated manually.

“The food was excellent and the experience of slowly moving down the canal, watching the city from a unique angle, amazed us all. I would recommend everyone to try this, tourist or local, in Dublin.

The Grand Canal in Dublin was commenced in 1756 and was one of two canals (and Royal Canal) linking Dublin with the River Shannon in the midlands of Ireland. The canal first opened for trade in 1804 and the last commercial transport took place in 1960.
