Russborough House & Parklands
Russborough is home to one of the most impressive private art collections in Ireland which may be viewed by taking a guided tour of the house.
The 18th century walled garden has been under restoration since 2011 and is now available for pre-booked groups.
The Outdoor Walking tour of the Demesne takes in 15 stops around our Demesne and is full of history and stories about Russborough for over 275 years.
The house opens to the public from March to December each year and offers multilingual guided tours of the house and rooms. From art lovers to historians to curious passers-by, the tour will leave you feeling inspired.
There are so many things to admire, from the beauty of the Lafranchini ceilings to a wonderful collection of world-class art and furnishings. Ornaments such as a microscope gifted to Marie Antoinette on her wedding day to silver, tapestries, and furniture from Louis XVs time are all on view during the guided house tour.
The story of the house owners is a fascinating one and an incredible interactive exhibition invites you to share their lives at Russborough.
Experience Sir Alfred’s Beits historic collection of travels, stories, art and architecture captured on film and in verse in this engaging modern exhibition with touch screen technology and 2D and 3D cinema.
Having survived robberies in the 1970s and 1980s and a fire in 2010, the house lives on to be enjoyed through the expertise of the wonderful tour guides. Thanks to the National Gallery of Ireland, you can now view some of the art collection of the Milltown collection which is original to the 18th-century house.
