Tayto Park Love Your Zoo

Love Your Zoo week is an annual event where members of BIAZA (British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums) hold a range of activities to promote the important work they do with regards to conservation, education and research. This year the campaign runs from Saturday May 25th to Sunday June 2nd and Tayto Park are offering a range of fun-filled activities to suit all age groups.

Families can meet the latest troop of lemurs in the newly opened lemur walk-through enclosure which has been a firm favourite in the park since it opened last month. Next up, visit the critically endangered macaques, the parks trio of tamarins and the boisterous squirrel monkeys which will all keep you amazed for hours. Finally, make sure to check out the parks smallest monkey, the Silvery marmoset, weighing in at a tiny 350 grams!

Tayto Park Love Your Zoo Week

‘Love Your Zoo’ week is an annual campaign established by BIAZA (Britain and Ireland’s association of zoos and aquariums) to promote the organisation and educate the public on zoos, aquariums and wildlife centres. In 2018, Tayto Park donated over €21,000.00 to various wildlife conservations and initiatives and recently agreed to support the Wildcats Conservation Alliance programmes in the amount of €10,000.00 per annum for the next three years.

BIAZA is a conservation education and scientific wildlife charity, which acts as the principal professional zoo body representing the responsible zoo and aquarium community in the UK. With 100 members, its role is to develop and spread best practice within Britain and Ireland and international zoo community, combining lobbying and campaigning with the development of policy in collaboration with the government and scientific organisations. BIAZA members support around 700 projects every year by providing financial support in excess of £10 million and by supplying skills, staff and equipment for conservation programmes worldwide.
