Wexford Racecourse

Wexford Racecourse is a favourite with race goers and is located just outside Wexford town, off the Dublin to Rosslare bypass and opposite Wexford General Hospital.

Described as a left handed course one mile and four furlongs, there has been racing events held at Wexford Racecourse for the past half century! The course underwent upgrades throughout 2015 & 2016 and is now a major location in the Irish racing calendar.

Wexford Racecourse Facilities

Facilities on site include free car parking for over 200 vehicles. Catering and refreshments are available at The Ivy Bar & Restaurant. Table bookings are available and guests can enjoy an extensive menu offering the very best of local cuisine and produce. For those on the move, the Snack Room offers some lighter hot snacks, sandwiches and hot drinks.

The Main Stand is the most popular place to be at every race meet with a choice of two bars upstairs. This stand also houses the Tote and the Levy Office. As a covered location, the main stand offers shelter from the gentle Irish weather, although as many readers will be aware, visitors to Wexford are more likely to be sheltering from the sun!

There’s also a portion of uncovered stand, ideal for the good weather and offering a bird’s-eye view of the finishing straight!

Wexford Racecourse promote a family friendly environment with private baby feeding and changing facilities available at the Ladies in the Parade Ring. Race meets are the ideal day out for groups too, a great way to spend a few hours with friends or colleagues, offering excitement and challenge to select the winners ahead of others in your group!. Catch up with friends, hear the gossip and immerse yourself in the race athmosphere at one of the many bars at the racecourse. You might even pick up some tips from the locals!

Stag & Hen outings are hugely popular at Wexford racecourse – a private room overlooking the track and the Big Screen is available. The Hen/Stag can present the winning Groom of the Best Turned Out horse in the Parade Ring with a small payment (€40+) and be photographed with one of the top jockeys of the day in the Parade Ring (by arrangement).

ATM: There is no ATM at the racecourse – there are ATM facilities across the road in Boggans Garage.

Wheelchair Accessible: Yes, there is a dedicated wheelchair viewing stand adjacent to the Stewards’ Stand near the Parade Ring and wheelchair-friendly toilets in the Ivy Room and a wheelchair-friendly toilet inside the stiles. Arrangements can be made for wheelchair users to be allowed to disembark inside the stiles, please phone the Racecourse ahead of racing on 087 3828099
