Decadent Theatre Company will return to the Gaiety in January with their acclaimed production of The Pillowman by Martin McDonagh. A dark but brilliant tragicomedy the production is receiving standing ovations in theatres across Ireland. Tickets from 24.50 are now on sale.
The Pillowman, winner of two Tony Awards and Olivier Award for Best New Play, engages the audience through the police interrogation of a young writer and the fantastical tales he creates. The uneasy laughter provoked by McDonaghs gift for comedy never overrides the emotions of fear and pity felt for the young writers plight. McDonaghs storytelling skill, combined with the Decadents stellar cast and creative team, will keep the audience on the edge of their seat to the very last line.
The Pillowman features the wonderful dramatic talents of Peter Gowen as Tupolski, Diarmuid Noyes as Katurian, Owen Sharpe as Michal, and Gary Lydon who reprises his critically acclaimed role as Ariel.
The show is directed by Andrew Flynn with an award winning creative team consisting Owen MacCarthaigh (set design), Carl Kennedy (sound design), Ciaran Bagnall (lighting design) and Petra Breathnach (costume design).
Tickets from tickets are from 24.50 including booking fee and restoration levy on sale now
