Me, Sinatra and Synchronicity
by Colm O’Reilly
Early house barman, hospice daycare assistant, accidental Frank Sinatra tribute act and unashamed Jackeen, Colm recalls the triumphs, trials and tribulations of his 17 years living in the Peoples Republic of Cork.
Ostensibly a tale of how he became a Frank Sinatra tribute act by accident one night in Kinsale, the story veers darkly into his life or death and struggle with alcoholism, relapse, recovery and rehabilitation.
To temper the brutally disarming honesty, the show is peppered with humorous anecdotes from his various careers and an enduring love story for the ages which links first line to last on a golden thread.
Under the tutelage of director James Browne, first time writer/actor Colm OReilly delivers, with unusual alacrity and considerable verve, his real life biography of Miracles, Magic and Madness, of Love, Loss and Light and Sunshine, Sorrow and Sinatra.
