Days out in Kilkenny is a list of recommended things to do in Kilkenny. Castlecomer Discovery Park is very popular. It’s a large outdoor park including walking trails, lakes and there’s even a zip line in there through the trees. Look out for the fairy village in the forest areas!
Kilkenny is a medieval and historic city with several awards in recent years including 2013 ‘Ireland’s Top Tourism Town’ from the Irish tourism governing body – Failte Ireland. Popular with stag and hen groups for its nightlife, the city has lots to offer with excellent attractions, super accommodation and 2 Michelin star restaurants!
Other points of interest include a visit to the famous Kilkenny Castle which dates back to the 13th Century. This is recommended if you’re visiting the city and the castle interiors are simply stunning. Churches and monasteries dot the landscape and St. Canice’s Cathedral and the Black Abbey Dominican priory are also dated from the 13th Century.
