Folklore Dinner

The evening takes place in an intimate candlelit setting above Dublin’s oldest Pub. As you relax between courses of a traditional Irish Dinner, our renowned storytellers take you into a world of the imagination with wonderful insights and mystical tales about Irish life in times past. Guests are seated together in a relaxed friendly atmosphere which allows them to get to know each other and often share stories of their trip to Ireland well into the night.

Storytelling

Ireland is renowned as a place of storytelling. In simpler times when people had nothing but themselves and family, evening story telling formed a key event in the community and family social calendar.

The Irish word for storyteller is Seanchai, meaning a bearer of “old lore” or ‘old thoughts’ The Storyteller provides the words to engage your imagination, creating your own personal experience of Irish History and Irish Folklore. Stories delivered by Irish Folk Tours are well researched, with the University College Dublin Folklore Department, to ensure a genuine exploration of Ireland’s uniquely rich culture.
