When out and about ensure you’re insured

chill insurance

Come rain or shine we all love a day out with the family or a luxury break away, and have been taking a look at whether people prefer to stay in or go out – especially in the winter months –they’ve even created a video all about the results.

No matter whether in or out of the home it’s important to ensure your home is secured. With so many types of insurance, these days it can be difficult to know exactly what you require. This is why we decided to provide some insight into home insurance options, so that you can get on with enjoying your time away.

Buildings Insurance Cover

Quite simply buildings cover protects the structure of your property. This includes the brick work, walls, roof, windows, and any permanent fixtures. What’s included in your buildings policy may vary but most will include insurance in case of fire, flood, burst pipes, theft and subsidence.

Contents Cover

In some cases you may not need to insure the structure of your home but the contents. This includes any valuables including jewellery, computers and electronics. If you rent your home contents only insurance may be just what you need.

Holiday Home Insurance

If your property is empty for 30 days or less then you may qualify for holiday home insurance. Properties left for longer than 30 days will require a special policy more suited to their requirements. Within this policy you’ll be covered for buildings insurance – which includes cover for the structure of your home, however if you want to insure your contents you may need a separate policy.

Now you have an idea of the type of cover you need all that’s left to do is find a deal that works for you and your home. The next time you’re away you can focus on having a good time.
