Go with the Flow River Adventures is a family run, adventure activity business offering affordable guided canoe trails. Established in 1996 by Charlie Horan and offering guided canoe trails, canoe hire and canoe holidays on the beautiful Barrow river.

No experience required – our adventures are available to complete beginners of all ages and abilities. We also sell canoes and kayaks.

Our guided canoe trail service includes activities that suitable for:

• Stags and hens
• School, youth and learning groups
• Families 
• Sporting organisation
• Charities
• Corporate team building  

While the majority of our bookings are with groups, on weekends and during holidays we try very hard to accommodate individuals, couples and smaller numbers.

We are a small business with a very keen and positive team of qualified instructors. We take great pride in bringing the river to life in a fun, interesting and meaningful way. We also love to show people how to have good, safe and simple fun on the water. Tons of laughter guaranteed!!

Family River Adventures

Go With The Flow brings you Family Canoeing Trips in Kilkenny. Don’t just sign up for any old canoeing activity. Go With The Flow River Safaris are the adventures you dream of. Do something unique and go where few other tourists get to experience. Choose one of our half or full day activity excursions and spend some quality time paddling some of the most enchanting waterways in Ireland. Go With The Flow adventures take you into beautiful, unspoilt and exciting waterways.

Our instructors will guide you along exclusive trails and show you how to shoot weirs and ride the rapids. We will pass through dramatic landscapes, mysteries wooded valleys and old navigations once used by the Guinness barges to deliver Ireland’s favourite tipple. You can bring a picnic, visit the playground of The Incredible Mr Kavanagh and take a swim in tranquil sheltered waters of our favourite remote pools.

Hen Whitewater Adventure

Go with the Flow will organise your day out so that you and the girls get to spend up to three hours together having the craic on different stretches of the River Barrow ranging from white-water spills and thrills to something a little calmer.

Stags & Bucks

Go with the Flow organise your stag party activity so that you and the lads get to spend up to three hours on different stretches of the River Barrow – Join us to shoot the weirs and waterfalls, ride the waves and rapids, tog out for a “wild swim” and be prepared for a proper dunking!

For both Hen & Stags you can choose open Canoes – two or three in each – which are the most popular or single sit-on Kayaks –Always tons of fun, laughing all the way.

You will be guided by qualified and experienced instructors. We provide all the equipment you need. Special care and attention will be given to anyone who is a bit nervous – be assured, this activity is suitable for all ages and abilities.

As a memento of your day out with us, we will give you a digital photo album FOC.

All this for only €45pp for a half day adventure with up to 15 people. Discounts are available for larger groups

Gaisce Adventure Journey

The Go With The Flow Gaisce Adventure Journey – leading to the Gaisce Bronze Award – is a two day canoeing adventure on the River Barrow located in the Carlow/ Kilkenny area.

With a strong emphasis on water safety, risk awareness and mutual responsibility, the Go With The Flow Gaisce Adventure Journey is the ideal combination of fun and learning against a background of real challenges posed by an unfamiliar environment.

The Gaisce Adventure Journey includes:

A 25K canoe paddle over two days with our qualified and experienced instructors.
An overnight stay at local scout hall or hostel including full use of Kitchen facilities

Canoe Hire & Holidays

Go with the Flow River Adventures also offer Canoe Hire and Holidays where we will meet you by the river with your two-seat canoe and paddles, some dry bags, buoyancy jackets  and a Kelly kettle (Always nice be able to pull in and have a brew with out reliance on the grid) and if required a tent. We offer a range of B&B and hotel options along with an itinerary guide.
