Elton John’s ‘Rocketman’ to blast onto ODEON screens May, 22^nd

On May 22^nd ‘Rocketman’, the Elton John biopic will hit ODEON cinemas nationwide.

The blockbuster film will star Taron Egerton as rock and roll icon, Elton John. This epic musical fantasy will follow the inspiring tale of Sir Elton John’s fascinating breakthrough years.

Over Elton John’s career of half a century, the music icon has sold over 300 million albums and has had over 50 top hits making the flamboyant rock pianist one of the biggest stars of his time. 

Taron Egerton when asked about Elton John and of his biggest challenge while filming the movie, he answered, “He’s so universally loved, and I just want to make him happy really. So, just getting over the pressure of it and having a good time. He can be simultaneously very intimidating and very, very vulnerable. I mean, everyone can be different things very quickly, but he has that in extremity. There are times when you sort of sit with him and he can seem like a childlike figure, but then he can be this massive, gregarious, intimidating, almost scary person as well. He’s very in command of himself and of who he is and can really run a conversation.”
