Cult classic, The Goonies returns to ODEON cinemas in stunning 4K restoration

On April 21^th ODEON cinema will be taking a trip back to 1985 for the Steven Spielberg family adventure classic. ‘The Goonies’ returns to the big screen once again to all ODEON locations for one day only in stunning 4k restoration so you can witness this 80’s classic with four times the resolution for an even brighter and more detailed picture.

 

Did you know?

• ‘The Goonies’ was Josh Brolin’s movie debut, he has since gone on to star in big blockbusters such as No Country For Old Men and The Avengers..
• Production designer J. Michael Riva thought the prop treasure map looked too new, so to make it look over 300 years old he spent an afternoon aging it. After pouring coffee in the map, he wanted to add blood, but the prop department was out of paint. In a quick bit of improvisation, Riva cut his finger and dripped his own blood along its edges.
• Factoid- The “bats” were actually just bowties and wads of black papier-mâche blown out of air cannons.
