The Helix Panto 2019

The-Helix-Panto

The festive season has arrived with the launch of the 2019 Christmas Panto at the Helix DCU.

The TheatreWorx team are back with their 12th comical rendition, this time swash bucking The Three Musketeers to life with heaps of fun, wit & laughter.

Irish tenor Paul Byrom returns in another hilarious performance, this time as Lord Beautface, supported by the terrific cast of popular characters and well known faces. Audience favourites Aidan Mannion and Colin Hughes are a huge hit with panto fans and Chris Corroon is the larger than life outrageous ‘Lola’.

Expect laughs in every scene and all of the panto favourites including special effects, superb set design, chase scenes and cool props. There’s a little twist on the Three Musketeers story this year and there’s also some unusual little friends popping up in the forest.

Can the village heroine Daria, played by Orla Jennings, realise her dream of becoming a Musksteer? Can she seize the enchanted stone to restore peace to the land? or will Lord Beautface disrupt her plans?? Lord Beautface must deal with a host of characters along the way, including his own sister, an equally hilarious ‘Osk me again!” performance by Jacqueline Brunton.

Every day Irish life can’t escape some side swipes as the past years top news stories get the panto treatment, drawing giggles from the audience. Younger visitors will love the dance numbers with popular tunes and songs included. We visited with 3 kids age 13, 10 and 7 and they absolutely loved it! I glanced across the seats to see them clapping and stomping along so well done to TheatreWorx on delivering a wonderful day out experience!

The Three Musketeers is a must see for families this holiday season. The Helix venue is a superb theatre location, with the audience right in front of the action and dances. Ideally located on the DCU campus, the venue has ample car parking and is easily accessible via the M50 and other major routes. We visited in early December but the show runs right through December and January, all in they will put on 80 shows which is an incredible feat for all the cast and crew.

The Helix provide the theatre and TheatreWorx is a family run production company that provides the theatrics!. The success of the show each year allows both the Helix and Theatreworx to give back and make valuable contributions to charity with Barretstown being a beneficiary this season. The Three Musketeers announced a special designated charity show in aid of Barretstown Children’s Charity which will take place on Thursday, 12th December, with ALL proceeds on the night going directly to the charity.
