Wildlife Heritage Centre

the wildlife and heritage centreThe Wildlife Heritage Centre is a unique day out in Monaghan and an opportunity visit Ireland’s largest private collection of natural Flora & Fauna.

Over 300 birds and mammals who had perished naturally in their environment are now preserved by taxidermy and are presented as a unique education exhibit. Many specimens have also been brought to the centre by members of the public.

Opened over 10 years ago by former wildlife ranger Peadar Morgan, who was immersed in this natural environment during his career. It was a position which saw him work daily on issues of preservation and as a natural embodiment of this, animal and wildlife issues were directly associated.

The Wildlife Heritage Centre also provides rehabilitation for injured or stressed Wildlife, before releasing them back into their natural habitats. For this reason, it allows children and visitors the opportunity to view many animals which would often be less seen. School Tours are popular at the centre and can be arranged from as little as €5 per student.
